The 746 is a quintessential British retro telephone and '60s style icon. Launched in 1967 by the general post office in response to public demand, it would inspire two decades of conversation and is, to this day, the universal symbol of the phone. Known as 'the modern phone' it was a welcome re -design to the popular 706 model. Amongst a raft of improvements, a stable handset rest and carrying handle were incorporated into the moulded switchhook cradle to improve usability while the internal workings were updated in line with technological advancements. In celebration of this great British icon, this replica maintains the bold curves of the original design in a striking range of colours.
